On 1 July 2011 Stephen Cornelissen assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Health.

Stephen has been with Mercy Health for eight years, most recently in the role of Chief Operating Officer. He brings a long established commitment to Mercy Health and a significant understanding of the organisation, its people, its ethos and its Catholic heritage.

“To have the opportunity to lead an organisation built on a 2,000 year tradition of providing compassionate care to others is truly an honour, and it is very humbling,” Stephen said.

“As with all health and community care organisations, Mercy Health faces a number of challenges in the future. However I am confident we will meet all of these and build on our reputation as a high quality care provider as I have seen first hand the unique contribution each person working for Mercy Health brings in delivering health, aged and community services to those who entrust us with their care.”
