    family centre 1Mercy Health O’Connell Family Centre is one of three statewide early parenting centres in Victoria. The centre is located in Canterbury and accepts referrals from all Victorian regions.

    Mercy Health O’Connell Family Centre provides assessment, information and expertise to help families manage a range of parenting issues. We provide services for families with newborn babies and children up to four years of age. Services include five-day residential programs, day stay programs, group sessions and information sessions. All programs are inclusive of partners and other carers.

    Mercy Health O'Connell Family Centre is located near the corner of Burke Road and Mont Albert Road, Canterbury.
    Enter via Parlington Street. (Melway map 45 K9)

    Our parenting support services are provided by a team of professionals. Support is given in the early years of parenting (infants and children up to four years of age). Care is based on the needs of individual families.

    This includes:
    • Adjusting to parenting and family relationships
    • Feeding and nutrition, including breastfeeding and the introduction of solids
    • Health, growth and the development of children
    • Early behavioural difficulties
    • Sleeping and settling
    • Multiple births
    • General parenting skills

    Help is offered through residential and day stay programs at Mercy Health O'Connell Family Centre in Canterbury or through day stay programs at various locations in Melbourne.

    We also provide education and training for health professionals who work with families.

    We are committed to providing you with quality care, supporting the wellbeing of your family and meeting your individual needs during your residential stay. Please view our residential stay brochure.

    Mercy Health O'Connell Family Centre is completely smoke free, including all buildings and grounds.

    There is free parking on-site. Enter carpark via Parlington Street.

    Public Transport

    Trains:
    From the city catch a train to Camberwell Station using the Alamein, Lilydale or Belgrave lines.

    Then catch the No. 72 Box Hill tram heading north and get off at stop 68 (corner of Burke Road and Mont Albert Road). Turn right into Mont Albert Road and walk 300 metres up the road. Turn right into Parlington Street and the entrance is the first on the right.

    Trams:
    From the city, catch tram no. 70 or 75 from Flinders Street. Get off at the intersection of Bourke Road and Riversdale Road.

    Then catch the No. 72 Box Hill tram and get off at stop 68 (corner of Burke Road and Mont Albert Road). Turn right into Mont Albert Road and walk 300 metres up the road. Turn right into Parlington Street and the entrance is the first on the right.
