Postnatal visiting hours

  • Visiting Hours for Level 5 Postnatal Wards are: 

    Partners and Children: 8am - 9.30pm
    (Partners OR ONE nominated support person)

    Grandparents are welcome to visit outside of visiting hours on the day of birth, but are then asked to observe visiting hours for the remainder the hospital stay

    All other visitors: 2 – 4 pm and 6- 8pm

    Visitors that arrive outside of visiting hours are welcome to return during visiting hours.

    Visiting hours are strictly maintained for the following reasons:
     


    • To allow our mothers and baby’s time to rest
    • To allow all new mothers and fathers time to bond with their baby and spend time as a family
    • To allow our midwives time to provide care and education

    Your co-operation with this would be greatly appreciated. Mercy Hospital for Women has a 'Zero Tolerance Policy' and is committed to creating and maintaining an environment which is free from violence and aggression. Violence directed towards staff in the work place will not be tolerated.
